We’ve been checking on the house each weekend, and so much has changed over the past few weeks! We were initially told that framing was expected to begin in early March, but we experienced a blizzard that caused framing to be delayed by a couple of weeks. The “bomb cyclone” blizzard hit on March 13th in Colorado and allowed Reed and me to have our first snow day. It only dropped 4.5″ in our area and we were fortunate to not experience any troubles from the storm.

We decided to drop by the home site towards the end of March, and we were thrilled to see the beginnings of framing! We stood in our home for the first time and started to imagine the finished house.

Seeing the progress prompted us to check on the house each weekend from late March to early April. One strange sighting was seeing snow inside the house. The photo doesn’t look too serious, but it was worrisome to see what looked like a raining house. The snow was melting and rapidly dripping like rain from the second floor. Thankfully, we live in a dry climate and the home was completely dry the next week we visited.

During our most recent visit to the house, we could see the framing for where the kitchen island will go. We were also able to walk on the deck and check out the backyard. Another exciting thing happened during our last visit to the house. We met our future neighbors! They will move in about a month before us. I’m sure we’ll meet more of the neighbors as we continue to check on the progress of the house.
