My husband and I traveled to Mo’orea for a tropical getaway at the Intercontinental Resort and Spa. We had reserved a Lanai room with IHG points but decided to inquire about upgrades to get a more luxurious experience. After receiving some rates from the general manager, we decided to upgrade to a Premium Beach Bungalow.

IHG Premium Beach Bungalow Moorea

The beach bungalow felt very private with the surrounding shrubs and had prime views of the sunset.

Upon check-in, we were informed that we would be staying in one of the recently updated bungalows. I’m unsure of exactly how many bungalows have been updated at this time, but the interior was incredibly nice! Amenities

The king-sized bed was very comfortable and the pillows were all of good quality. The TV was on a stand and could be rotated to be viewed from the living area or the bedroom. The video and pictures were taken with all of the doors open, but there were sliding doors that close off the bathroom area and the bedroom from the rest of the living space.

The modern shower with detachable shower head was one of our favorite luxuries of the room. The sink area housed small bottles of shampoo, lotion, and body wash, along with little bathroom kits that contained a toothbrush and mini toothpaste and a razor.

The bungalow included a mini-fridge with a couple cans of soda, mini-bottles of rum, vodka, etc., and few snacks. All items in the mini fridge were available for purchase with a price list included. Coffee and tea were complimentary and an electric teapot was available in the room. Housekeeping left us clean teacups and a large bottle of water each day.

What Made it Special

The Intercontinental in its entirety is a beautiful resort incredibly romantic, especially for a nature-lover. The grounds are well-maintained and the landscaping leaves you feeling immersed in a tropical garden. The backdrop of the mountains against the vibrant blue ocean surrounding the bungalows creates a true tropical paradise. The Premium Beach Bungalow was really the icing on the cake for us. To be able to walk out and be right on the beach was my favorite part of each morning. Watching the sunset from the porch and stargazing at night were also some of my favorite activities from the trip!

Moorea

Every night of the trip, we sat on the beach and watched the stars.

The bungalow was inviting and comfortable and had everything that we needed to make our stay relaxing. I very much recommend staying at the Intercontinental Resort and Spa Moorea for your Tahitian getaway!
